During the first few years you own your vehicle, your loan value can be higher than the vehicle's actual value. To protect you and your investment, the Credit Union offers Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP). This inexpensive coverage offers protection against financial liability for individuals who finance new and used autos.
If your auto is totaled or stolen, GAP covers the difference between your loan balance and the value of the car, so you won't end up owing money on a vehicle you no longer own. Also, as long as you finance another vehicle within 90 days of the incident, GAP will reduce $1,000 of the principal balance of your new car.
GAP coverage for autos, trucks, SUVs and motorcycles is a one-time cost of $250.
